Our task was to create a brand concept around writer Shelagh Delaney. In response, we had the idea to open an independent boutique in Salford, the birth place of Shelagh Delaney. The store will stock men’s clothing and tailoring; however, our concept is to employ only female staff. Having solely female staff in a menswear store is to represent the idea of women in a man’s world. She wrote about an independent women’s role in a man’s world, and we have translated this into a store concept with a 1950s look.
